May 7, 1925-Dec. 5, 2012
SOUTH BEND — Eunice Emerick died peacefully Dec. 5, 2012 at the age of 87.
July 26, 1943 she married the love of her life Arthur Donald Emerick. They shared 64 years of marriage until he died Dec. 8, 2007.
Their children were the center of her life…and oh yes she lived for bowling. Being a part of the Golden Gang gave her great joy. After her kids went to school, she worked at Howard Johnson’s, Holiday Inn and Randall’s Inn in Roseland. It was important to stay close to home and she often mentioned her home of 62 years was located where kids could go to grade school, high school and college, all within a mile. She loved keeping up her house and most of all planting and maintaining the beautiful flowers she planted each spring. Her home was a doll house and it was her pride and joy.
Along with her husband she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Caren Emerick and brother Joseph Kaniewski.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Ronald (Karen) Emerick, Plymouth, Tom (Marilyn) Emerick, Granger and daughter Connie (Mike) Czajkowski, Bremen. Eight grandchildren, Brian (Joka) Emerick, Jerry Emerick, Todd, Tye, Tim, Tara Emerick, Tami (Aaron) Kobb, and Michael (Brandi) Czajkowski. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Austin Emerick, Jovana and Mila Emerick, Trenton Emerick, Micah (and expected baby sister) Czajkowski; and a brother, Arthur Kaniewski, Dowagiac.
The family would like to thank the staff in the Memory Care Unit at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth for making a home for her where she felt safe and loved.
At her request there will be no services. Family and friends are invited to visit in honor of her life at the home of Connie and Mike Czajkowski, 6887 Filbert Road, Bremen, Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m.
