INDIANAPOLIS — Ethel J. Warren, 87, Indianapolis, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011, at the Carmel Health and Living Center, Carmel.
She was born Sept. 27, 1923 in South Bend, to the late Jack and Ethel (Howard) Palmer.
Ethel graduated from Tyner Consolidated Schools as the Valedictorian in 1941. She later went on to marry Max E. Warren April 27, 1942, and they enjoyed their married life together until his passing in October of 2001. Ethel attended both the Bethel Tabernacle in Kokomo and the Windfall Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed gardening very much, and often canned the produce she grew. Other favorite past times included reading, and some of her favorite books were westerns and mystery novels. Ethel was fond of animals, and also loved her grandchildren dearly.
Ethel is survived by her children, Linda (Julie Boulware) Warren, Cheri (Ron) Winner, Max (Jeanne) Warren and Richard (Judy) Warren; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max Warren; a son, Ronald Warren; and two brothers, Howard Palmer and Richard Palmer.
Ethel’s family will be receiving friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, May 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, Kokomo.
There will be a funeral service for Ethel immediately following the visitation at 11 a.m. also at the Mortuary with Reverend Michael Winner officiating. We will then be meeting at 2:30 p.m. at the Tyner Cemetery for a committal service.
