Energy-saving kits will benefit Triton School Corp.
BOURBON — Energy-efficient home kits will soon provide Triton School Corporation with way to bring in some funds.
Superintendent Donna Burroughs reported in the August school board meeting that utility companies in Indiana such as NIPSCO are now distributing such kits to willing homeowners. For each kit distributed, the school corporation will receive $25.
“Anybody living in Indiana can participate (and have the money go to Triton),” said Burroughs. “All the utility companies in the state are participating.”
The kit contains several lightbulbs, a shower head, and other items to install in the home in order to save energy. There is also an option to have a modification placed on a resident’s air conditioning unit. The school will receive an additional $25 for each person willing to have this installed.
To receive a kit, contact the Triton School Corporation administration office, 574-342-2255.
