AVON — Durwood S. Strang, 87, of Avon died Jan. 23, 2012.
He had been a commissioner for the state tax board. He served in the United States Army during WWII and Korean War. He was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church and IOOF.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes Friend Strang; a daughter, Diane (John) Jozefowski; brother, Earl R. (Donnie) Strang; brother-in-law, Clifford (Nancy) Friend; sister, Shirley (Carroll) Zartman; grandchildren, Krissy and Bobby Campell, Brian and Jon Jozefowski; and many nieces and nephews and dear friends from Michigan.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Strang.
Calling is from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Avon United Methodist Church, Avon, with service to follow at 6 p.m. Burial will be at Tyner Cemetery, Tyner Friday at 11 a.m.
