Drug take back Sept. 29

BREMEN — The Bremen Police Department and Reserve Officers will be participating in the National Drug Take Back Initiative sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Saturday Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. residents can drop of their expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs to the Bremen Police Officers at Woodie’s Supermarket parking lot, 116 N. Bowen Ave. in Bremen. The National Survey on Drug Use and Health in 2009 estimates that there were seven million non-medical users of prescription drugs in the United States.
The survey further indicates that there were more Americans abusing psychotherapeutics than the number of cocaine, heroin and hallucinogen abusers combined. Expired, unused or unwanted medications in our homes are a potential source of supply to the drug abusers making it a risk to public health and safety.
