WARSAW — Donald Roy Trease of Warsaw passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at 1:05 a.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw at the age of 91.
He was born July 12, 1921 in Donaldson, to Grover and Esther (Johnson) Trease. Oct. 5, 1947 he was married to Mary Miller, who survives.
Donald was a 1939 graduate of West Township High School in Marshall County. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during World War II in the European Theater, he was honorably discharged and a recipient of the Purple Heart. 
He moved to Warsaw 46 years ago, retiring in 1983 after 37 years with United Telephone Company. He was a 46-year member of Kiwanis International-Warsaw, serving as president in 1971; member of Walnut Creek United Methodist Church of Warsaw; as well as an avid fisherman and gardener.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Mary Trease (Warsaw); one son: Don Trease (Warsaw); one daughter: Marie (husband Mauri) Bordner (Columbia City); one granddaughter: Maureen (husband Jeremy) Freeman (Columbia City); one grandson: Mason (wife Sonja) Bordner (Ft. Wayne); and four great-grandchildren: Eden, Grant, Wyatt and Blake. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister: Mildred Henry.
A private graveside service was held Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw and officiated by Pastor Steve Ailes. 
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, 2033 South 150 West, Warsaw. There will be visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the memorial service. 
Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. 
Memorial donations may be made in Don’s memory to Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, 2033 S. 150 West, Warsaw, IN 46580 and would be appreciated by his family.
