PLYMOUTH — Donald E. Jernstrom, 80, of 12661 Plymouth-Goshen Trail, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at 5:31 p.m. at the Elkhart Hospice House, Elkhart.
Donald was born Dec. 6, 1929, in South Bend, to Conrad and Helga (Anderson) Jernstrom. He married Bonnie VanBlaricom Sept. 26, 1968. Don owned Don's Cafeteria, in Plymouth, for several years. He drove a truck for Central Transfer, in Plymouth. He also was a Teamster driver for Redi Froz, in South Bend, retiring in 1985. He served in the Naval Reserve out of Great Lakes, Ill.
Don is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jernstrom; his daughter, Deborah Palomo of Mission, Texas; his sons, Michael (Mary) Jernstrom of Bremen, Robert Jernstrom of LaPorte, and Ward Jernstrom of Plymouth; the children's mother, Phyllis Jernstrom of Plymouth; his sister, Betty Reese of Sun City West, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
