NORTH JUDSON — Virginia Richie, 86, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, in VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso.
Survivors include three daughters, Geneva Minix of Summerfield, Fla., Roberta Manns of Ocklawaha, Fla., and Odgry Silcox of Hickory, N.C.; three sons, James (Louise) Richie of North Judson, Wayne (Susan) Richie of Gibsonton, Fla., and Crocket Jr. (Kathy) Richie of Dunnellon, Fla.; three sisters, Jeanette Clemons of Jackson, Ky., Francis Bagley of Knox, and Elizabeth Neace of North Judson; 125 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 
Funeral services were Monday at 11 a.m. CST at Souls Harbor Church, North Judson. Visitation was Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church and Monday one hour prior to the services. To leave online condolences, go to rannellsfuneralhome.com

Rev. Fanuel Clemons

KNOX — Rev. Fanuel Clemons, 81, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, in his home.
He is survived by his wife, Calla; two daughters, Brenda Bower of LaPorte and Wilma Clemons of Houston, Texas; two sons, Douglas (Jane) Clemons of LaPorte and Roger (Mary) Clemons of Lafayette; four sisters, Helen Oliver of Bowling Green, Ky., Revina Arnett of Merietta, Ohio, Melovie Lane of Toto, and Wanda Jean Frazier of North Judson; one brother, Otis Clemons of Elkhart; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. CST at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox, where military graveside services will be conducted. Visitation is Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VNA Hospice of Michigan City. BREMEN — Jacob U. Schwartz, 54, of Bremen died at 4:15 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at St. Joseph Medical Center after a short illness.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Schwartz; a son, Uriah Jay Schwartz, at home; his mother-in-law, Susie Mast, Hazelton, Iowa; sisters, Anna Marie (Mervin) Mast, Katie Irene Hochstetler, both of Nappanee, Rosella U. (Henry) Wagler, Degraff, Ohio, Susan Mae (Eli) Schwartz, Hamilton, Mary U. (Wilmer) Schwartz, Bennington, Edna U. (Perry) Borntrager, Etna Green; brothers, Joseph U. (Florence) Schwartz, Centreville, Mich., Rudy U. (Polly) Schwarz, Chouteau, Okla.; stepsisters, Catherine Ropp, Kalona, Iowa, Margaret (Martin) Yoder, Rebecca Ropp, Inez Ropp, all of Nappanee; and stepbrothers, Elson (Arlene) Ropp, Kalona, Iowa, Sanford Ropp, Goshen, Ira (Joan) Ropp, Milford.
Visitation was after 1 p.m. Sunday and all day Tuesday at the family home, 1611 E. 3rd Road, Bremen. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Dennis Hochstetler residence, 2735 Birch Road, Bremen. Burial will be in Borkholder Cemetery. Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.

GOSHEN — Betty L. Firestone, 85, of Goshen, formerly of Nappanee, died at 8:37 p.m., Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at IU Goshen Health.
Survivors are a daughter, Linda (Michael) Carter, Beech Grove; sons, Roger Richmond, Goshen, Bill Wilson, Elkhart, James (Patricia) Wilson, Wakarusa, Thomas (Erin) Wilson, Statesboro, Ga.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Monday, 2 to 4 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, followed by funeral services at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Stony Point Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to American Diabetes Association or Lymphoma & Leukemia Foundation.
