LaPORTE — Oscar “Oz” B. Smith Jr., 89, died Jan. 26, 2013 at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Georgiana; sons, Gary (Cathy) Smith of Woodbridge, Va., Michael G. (Gloria) Smith of LaPorte; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at Braman & Sons Memorial Chapel, 108 S. Main St., Knox from 6 to 7 p.m. CST with a Masonic service to follow. Funeral services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. CST at the funeral home with visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

ROCHESTER — Betty L. Harper, 82, of Rochester died at 11:42 p.m. Jan. 26 at St. Vincent’s Heart Care Center of Indianapolis.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; a daughter, Sharon (Kevin) Bockover of Twelve Mile; a son, Donald Harper of Rochester; three sisters, Della Wilson of South Bend, Ruth (Brice) Carrithers of Peru, and Aretha Mills of Rochester; a brother, David (Kathy) Floyd of Nyona Lake; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be in the Good Family Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30. Burial will be in the Akron Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and an hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Society through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation.
