Culver library wins nationwide contest

Culver Union Township Public Library, located at 107 North Main Street, was one of six libraries in the nation to win a Tantor Audio “June is Audiobook Month” essay contest.
CUTPL was one of six libraries including Sodus Township Library, North Wales Area Library, Springfield Township Library in Delaware County, Bloomfield Public Library and Beaman Library at Lipscomb University. CUTPL won ten free audiobooks from Tantor.

Tantor is the recipient of numerous Audie Awards, AudioFile Earphones Awards, Publishers Weekly Listen-Up Awards, and starred audio reviews."
Library Director Colleen McCarty says that “Audiobooks are a very popular item at the library, and we are always looking to increase our collection. We welcome this opportunity to increase our offerings for our patrons with these fine-quality Tantor audios. Our special thanks go to Reference and Adult Services Librarian Jon Gaskill who submitted the winning essay.”
The essay topic was “What the Library does for the community and why they should win free audiobooks.” CUTPL would like to express its gratitude to Tantor for being chosen as one of the winners.
