Culver Lake Fest fireworks back on

The Culver Lake Fest committee announced Thursday that, due to the more than one inch of rain which fell Wednesday night and Thursday morning, Saturday night's annual Lake Fest fireworks are back on the schedule, slated to begin around 10 p.m.

The committee had announced Monday the fireworks were likely to be canceled pending a "substantial" amount of rainfall in the area, at the suggestion of Culver's fire chief.

The fireworks show over Lake Maxinkuckee is part of a packed roster of Lake Fest events in a festival this year dedicated to observing Culver's Woodcraft Camp's 100th anniversary.
