Culver festival offers 'Taste' of array of eateries

June 19, 2011

Janet Kline, left, prepares to try out an offering from the Corndance Cafe, represented here by Matt Artist, right, at the annual Taste of Culver festival Saturday. Sponsored by Culver's Chamber of Commerce, the event once again drew hundreds to the downtown area as the Caribbean-flavored sound of Kent Arnsbarger's steel drums mingled in the air with the enticing smells of a host of the area's popular restaurants and eateries. As in the past, restaurants offered samples of their fare -- appetizers, main courses, and desserts alike -- at bite-sized prices, with most proceeds going to the Chamber. The event joined with the National C Scow regatta on Lake Maxinkuckee throughout the weekend, and the annual Boys and Girls Club to make for a busy summer weekend of activity in Culver.
