County Council approves procedures for emergency access to funds

PLYMOUTH - Marshall County Emergency personnel will have an easier time of getting the money they need in time of disaster.

The Marshall County Council followed the lead of the Marshall County Commissioners in approving a joint ordinance of both bodies for procurement of emergency funds. The ordinance will make it possible to streamline the process of appropriating funds in case of an emergency.

Ordinance 2013-05 or the Emergency Management Ordinance will give authorization to the Marshall County Emergency Management Director to secure necessary emergency services to protect Marshall County residents.

The EMA Director can - with the approval of the President of the Commissioners and the President of the Council - work with the Auditor to procure funds when time in an emergency is of the essence.
