Congresswoman visits with local Chambers

May 1, 2013

PLYMOUTH — In an invitation only meeting with members of the Plymouth and Culver Chambers of Commerce and a few local officials, Congresswoman Jackie Walorski listened, took notes and commented on local and regional concerns Tuesday afternoon in Plymouth.

It was the culmination of a 10-county, two-day ”Building Better Business” tour across her district to touch base with the business community.

With a request that the media attending the event consider the comments made during the meeting “off the record,” Walorski said she wanted to provide the chamber members in the room with updates on concerns addressed in a meeting two months ago and to share some insight on procedures and situations that were occurring at the regional level and in Washington D.C. Not all of the information she shared was not “publicly available,” she said.

At the table with Walorski from the region were people representing local businesses, higher education, economic development, non-profits, and banking and finance.

(Additional information about the meeting is available in Wednesday's print edition.)
