Community prayer vigil tonight in Culver following gunshot deaths

November 29, 2012

A community-wide prayer vigil in response to last night's shooting deaths of two Culver residents will take place tonight, Thursday, Nov. 29, starting at 7 p.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 511 School Street in Culver.

The event, emphasizes Pastor Jacob Junker of Wesley, is for the entire community and clergy from across the Culver community will participate. Clergy will also be available if students, parents, or other residents would like to talk about the incident, which left a 16 year old and adult dead of gunshot wounds on Madison Street in Culver. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

"Our thoughts and prayers out to all those affected by the recent tragic shooting of two persons in our community," said Junker. "All are encouraged to attend as we gather for mutual support."

Light refreshments will follow the service, he added.
