CULVER — Clara Elizabeth Hansen, 89, of Culver, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at Hospice House, South Bend.

Clara was born Dec. 16, 1922 in Warsaw to Walter W. and Bessie (Smith) White. Clara married Winferd Carl Hansen Feb. 1, 1942. Clara has been a longstanding member of Culver Lions Club & VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Clara and her husband started Hansen's Restaurant & Sport Shop in 1957.

She is survived by her four children: Patricia (John) McFarlin of Elkhart, Michael (Sherry) Hansen of Mansfield, Ohio, John Hansen of LaPaz, and Peggy (Rich) Personette of Culver; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, sister, Katherine Anders of Plymouth; and sister-in-law, Elaine Hansen of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers Charles, Wilbur, Edward, Raymond, and Emmett and one great-grandchild, Jennifer Breeden.

A time of visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. with the Culver Lions Club doing a memorial service at 8 p.m. at the Odom Funeral Home in Culver. Rev. James Harper will officiate funeral services Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at OakHill Cemetery in Plymouth.
