City to flush hydrants

The City of Knox will be conducting the annual flushing of the fire hydrants next week, starting Sunday evening, April 22 at about 9 p.m. The flushing will continue for an additional five nights. Two city trucks, with flashing lights, will be around town.
The hydrants will be opened and allowed to flow freely for several minutes. There will be a worker within one to two blocks of opened hydrant. Do not be alarmed to see water flowing from the hydrants during this time.
The water crew performs this task at night, when the demand for water is at its lowest.
