BREMEN — Charles L. Fritz, 70, of Bremen passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
He was born March 24, 1941 in Wyatt to Chester and Blanche (Feitz) Fritz. He married Jeanie G. Weldy, who preceded him in death in 1991. He then married Barbara Hand; she survives.
Charles attended Community Gospel Church in Bremen and was a farmer and avid outdoorsman. He was Madison Township Horse & Pony Leader for several years, co-owner of Backwoods Preserve & Whitetail Deer business, and worked for the foundry as a young man.
Survivors include wife, Barbara Fritz of Bremen; three sons: Lee (Tammy) Fritz of Bremen, Jason (Melissa) Fritz of Florida, and Josh Fritz of Bremen; three stepdaughters: Tammy (Lee) Fritz of Bremen, Staci (Dan) Junkin of Lakeville, and Mandy (Eric) Austin of Argos; nine grandchildren: Lyndzey, Landra, Lauraleigh, Cody, Cassidy, Ty Fritz-Fielder, Corie, Chase, and Riley; sister, Thelma Dell McClure of London, Ky.; and three brothers: Wayne Allen of Bremen, Alvin Gene of Bremen, and Robert Dale of Hudson, Fla.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Community Gospel Church, Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Mike Fanning. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at the church.
