CES students' pizzas for PTO, playground

November 4, 2012

Culver Elementary School's Parent-Teacher Organization is nearly $7,000 closer to fulfilling a number of its goals for this school year and beyond, thanks to the efforts of a number of students including its top three sellers, pictured here. The top seller in the entire school was kindergartener Rachel Pietsch, far right, who was awarded $100 for her efforts. Taking second place (with a $75 award) was 6th grader Charles Ault (center), and winning the $50 prize for third place was kindergartener Braiden Molebash (left).

The school-wide fundraiser sold pizzas, so naturally enough, a Little Ceasers pizza party was the reward for any CES youngster who sold at least seven units (110 qualified for the party, held Oct. 19), according to Sany Lewendowski of the PTO, who coordinated the event with assistance from Vickie Bailey and CES 5th grade teacher Raeanne Stevens, as well as other PTO members.

Funds raised will help purchase items designated by the school, including bicycle helmets, laminating paper, and -- with remaining funds at the end of the year -- towards the purchase of a substantial new addition to the school's playground in the next few years, as advertised on this poster, featured in the school's main hallway.
