Cavs finish season on high note

October 16, 2010

CULVER — Culver Community football head coach Andy Thomas said his team treated Friday’s regular-season finale with LaVille as a playoff game.
Given the results, the defending sectional champion Cavs look poised to make a strong run at a repeat.
Senior running back Mike Salary danced his way to 213 yards in 16 carries, scored twice, and even tossed a touchdown pass for good measure in the Cavs’ 35-6 Senior Night win over Northern State Conference rival LaVille.
“Our offensive line did a good job getting on people and staying on people,” Thomas said. “Our backs ran the ball hard and our quarterback made good decisions.
“We’ll go as far as (our seniors) will take us,” he added. “We looked at this as a playoff week, and we needed to play well. I’m proud of our players and coaches.”
