Budding baker

November 19, 2012

Nicholas Hochstetler, son of Darlene and Branden Hochstetler, Nappanee, sprinkles flour while creating a pie Oct. 13 at Nappanee Bakery and Treat Shoppe at Coppes Commons during the National Hoosier Cabinet Day celebration.
Staff from Nappanee Public Library and the bakery promoted and carried out the event which brought in 82 children to learn how to bake a mini pie. The children did the rolling, laying of the crust and the pie filling under the direction of library staff and the rewards were said to have been well worth the lesson to promote future bakers or at least, to create some true pie enthusiasts.
