Brenda Uceny shares photos, thoughts on Olympics as daughter Morgan gets set for Monday’s 1500 preliminaries

August 6, 2012

LONDON — While Morgan Uceny’s family cheers her on as she competes for the gold in the women’s 1500 meters at the Olympics in London this week, Morgan’s mother, Brenda, has graciously agreed to share photos and updates of their experience at the summer games.
The Ucenys have gotten a front row seat at the Olympics and are taking the opportunity to do a little sightseeing in London as well. Here Morgan and father Marty share a moment before an Adidas press conference Saturday in London.
Here’s what Brenda had to say about her experience at the Adidas press conference Saturday, taking in the sights in the British capital, and the pre-race jitters as Monday’s preliminaries loomed:

“This picture was taken this morning (Saturday) just before the Adidas press conference with Marty, my husband. It’s a lovely day. We are getting settled quite nicely. Our son Alex just landed, and we will be hooked up with him in about an hour. At the Hospitality Suite they are making shoes for each sport and putting on display, they are incredible. It’s the little things like this behind the scenes that are so cool.
“Marty and I are doing our first sightseeing day downtown (Sunday). We experienced taking the tube… (W)e are wearing our USA stuff, lots of people comment all the time. Met a family from Los Angeles that knew of Morgan. These past couple of days it is like being on vacation, but today I’m feeling anxious. Getting nervous because the morning starts the whole thing for us. Going to look up heat sheets soon.”
