Bremen upends Kings for 2nd straight sectional title
BREMEN — The Bremen High football team was in good hands with Ben Hueni Friday night.
Hueni had seven catches for 109 yards and one score, helping No. 5 Bremen cruise to a 28-6 win over Lewis Cass in the Class 2A Sectional 26 championship game at a chilly Don Bunge Field.
Three touchdowns on their first three possessions helped the Lions (12-0) seize command and earn their second consecutive sectional championship. Next up for Bremen is the regional final at No. 6 Wheeler (12-0), a 48-6 winner over North Newton Nov. 11.
“We definitely came out and played extremely well in the first quarter tonight,” said Bremen coach Bob Holmes. “We were able to move the ball down the field and put ourselves in a great spot early on. It’s a credit to our kids for all of the hard work and dedication they’ve put in to make all of this possible.”
