Bremen senior Hope Jordan earns state berth

October 25, 2010

FORT WAYNE — The team season might be over for the Bremen girls cross country squad, but the state’s biggest race remains for one Lions senior.
Bremen finished 12th in Saturday’s New Haven cross country semi-state at The Plex, an expected result considering the quality of the 20-team field.
“We knew our chances of going on as a team were slim,” Bremen coach Mick Gardner said. “We came here to have fun with it and enjoy it.”
The season will go on, though, for Bremen standout Hope Jordan. Behind the blistering 18:13 pace of winner Brianna Johnson of Fort Wayne Carroll, which took the team title, Jordan finished fifth with a time of 18:47. The performance put Jordan in this Saturday’s state championship meet in Terre Haute.
