Bremen businessman testifies before Congressional subcommittee

July 19, 2013

WASHINGTON D.C. - A local businessman was the voice of small business - in particular manufacturing - before the Small Business Subcommittee on Agriculture, Energy and Trade.

J.B. Brown, President of Bremen Castings was a member of a panel of experts testifying on Thursday morning regarding the affect proposed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations will have on his company and other small businesses around the country. The Committee was examining the impact of the compliance obligations in the EPA’s proposed Regulatory Flexibility Act.

While Brown told the Committee his industry already does its part to comply with energy efficiency regulations proposed, he was most concerned how regulations regarding greenhouse gas emissions would affect energy costs and therefore the ability to remain competitive.

(For additional details of Brown's testimony, read the story in the print or e-editions of the July 19 Pilot News.)
