Bremen beats Triton in game of keep-away

September 11, 2010

BOURBON — There is an old coach’s adage in football that goes, “They can’t score if they don’t have the ball.”
Bremen’s Lions demonstrated that truism to perfection at Triton on Friday night on their way to a 40-6 win over the Trojans.
Time of possession not withstanding, the Lions ran 68 offensive plays to Triton’s 29. The Trojans had only one second quarter possession of just five plays. The game was a masterful performance of keep away, by a very solid Bremen offense.
“The kids played very, very well tonight,” said Bremen head coach Robert Holmes.  “They didn’t play very well last week but they rose up to the challenge, got after it in practice this week and came to play.”
