Bremen’s Heather Martin signs with Grace

September 13, 2011

WINONA LAKE — Bremen senior Heather Martin has signed on to play women’s soccer at Grace College for the 2012-13 season.
Martin, a defender with the Lady Lions and native of Bremen, was the team’s MVP in 2010 and the team’s Offensive MVP in 2009.
“I fell in love with Grace the first time I went there. I love the people and the campus,” Martin said. “I am looking forward to glorifying God and balling it up on the soccer field while at the same time growing in wisdom to prepare myself for life.”
During the 2010-11 season, Heather racked up 11 goals and 16 assists while playing as a defender. Her 16 assists ranked 11th in the state, according to VarVee.com. The previous season, she tallied six assists.
“I am pumped about Heather joining the Grace family. She is a quality young lady and a fantastic soccer player,” said Grace head coach Michael Voss. “Heather will bring speed, composure and pizazz to our squad. She is an excellent one-on-one defender, and I’m excited to see her attack the width of the field with skill and flare.”
Martyin played club soccer for the Indiana Invaders and also a Bremen honor roll student. She is the daughter of Larry and Pam Martin.
