Boldry enters not guilty plea, requests contact with child

September 5, 2012

Todd Boldry

KNOX — Todd Boldry, 39, of Knox, entered a plea of not guilty in Starke County Circuit Court Friday during his initial hearing on the charges of Child Seduction and Official Misconduct.
During the hearing, Boldry requested that the no contact order, which is currently in place, be lifted. The order states that Boldry is not to have contact with the alleged female victim. However, since he is the biological father of the alleged victim’s child, his attorney requested the order be vacated to allow Boldry to see his child. No decision regarding the no contact order was made during Friday’s hearing — a court date to decide the matter has been set for 11:30 a.m. Monday.
Boldry’s first pre-trial conference has been set for 8 a.m. Oct. 31. His second pre-trial date and the deadline for a plea agreement is scheduled for 8 a.m. Nov. 15.
Boldry was arrested Friday, Aug. 24 at Knox Middle School, where he is employed as a teacher, on one count of Child Seduction and one count of Official Misconduct, both D felonies.
The charges against Boldry allege that he was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old student at Knox High School, where he was a former teacher and former coach of the Knox Varsity boys basketball team.
The alleged incident is said to have taken place on Knox High School property.
Currently, Boldry is suspended with pay from his teaching position at Knox Middle School.
If convicted, Boldry may receive a sentence of between six months and three years.
