Rebuilding unlikely in tornado-ravaged town E-mail

The tornado that struck Picher, Okla. last weekend struck in the middle of a federal Superfund site, and Tuesday, officials touring the site said no government money will be awarded for rebuilding the homes that were destroyed. (May 13)

Detroit takes steps towards ousting mayor E-mail

The Detroit City Council has narrowly approved two measures designed to oust Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick from office. The votes start forfeiture proceedings against Kilpatrick and ask Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm to remove the mayor. (May 13)
