My View from the Pilot house By Mike Boys Pilot News Consultant During the 1940s and early 1950s before television, we would gather around the radio after school and in the evenings to listen to some great entertainment. We had to use our imagination and boy it can sometimes run wild. It could be scary, sad, funny, and all of the emotions you can SEE on the tube.

My View from the Pilot house By Mike Boys Pilot News Consultant Kilroy was a famous icon for WW II GIs — but there were two more famous cartoon characters that every serviceman could relate to and they were none other than “Willie and Joe” from the mind of Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist Bill Mauldin.
