Biggest Loser final registration, weigh-in Monday

PLYMOUTH — The registration deadline and first weigh-in for Fitness Forum’s Biggest Loser contest is Monday, from 5 to 9 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.
More than 100 teams are signed up, and fitness manager Julie Rodriguez said that interested teams can still sign up Monday during weigh-in.
“If you’re on the fence (about whether or not to sign up) try to find somebody who has the same goals as you,” advised Rodriguez.
Goal-setting is a theme among Biggest Losers participants this year, as many teams have set specific goals such as increasing endurance, weight and skill sets. Rodriguez said that some teams are combining the weight and body fat loss program with the goal-setting Set, Believe, and Achieve program that is going on at the same time. Members have made commitments to train for a 5K, build strength, and lose a specific number of pounds, all with the guidance of Fitness Forum staff.
“You have the tools, the resources, and the staff to help you achieve your goals,” said Rodriguez. “2012 is the year to do it.”
After the first Biggest Loser weigh-in Jan. 16, teams will take part in a middle weigh-in, on a choice of dates: Monday, Feb. 13 from 5 to 9 a.m.; Thursday, Feb. 16 from 5 to 8 a.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 18 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The final weigh-in will be Monday, March 19 from 5 to 9 a.m.; Thursday, March 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 24 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Both participants must make it to designated times at each weigh-in to be qualified for grand prize; however teammates do not have to attend together for the middle weigh-in. Winners are determined by the combined percentage of weight loss of both participants. An individual prize will go to the participant who loses the most total percentage of body fat overall: A free 30-minute massage at Serenity Spa.
