PLYMOUTH — Former Muncie resident Betty Hayden, 77, passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 at her home in Plymouth where she lived for the last eight years.
She was born in Wakefield, Ohio, the daughter of Langley and Alka Slusher and graduated from Royerton High School.
Betty worked for Waterfield Mortgage as a loan closing secretary and retired after many years of service.
She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant being baptized last year in Connecticut. Her other loves included her grandchildren and the Indiana Pacers.
Survivors include her four children, Melinda Hamilton (husband, Ray), Tonice Fenton (husband, Al), Ted Hayden (wife, Joni) and Tricia Hayden; her grandchildren, Joe and Julie Howard, Dee Lichtenberger, Wendy Fenton, Peggy Franklin (husband, Ian), Megan Fenton, Stephanie Fenton, Steven Fenton, Taylor Fenton, Teddie Fenton, Bethany, Kennedy and Lucy Hayden and Jesse Rodriguez; 10 great-grandchildren, her two brothers, Scotty Slusher (wife, Mary) and Tony Slusher (wife, Paula); a sister-in-law, Barbara Slusher Richards; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edward Slusher and Jimmie Slusher; and one sister, Patty Sherrill.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Family and friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at the mortuary and one hour prior to services Saturday.
