BREMEN — Bethel Myrtle Huber, 89, of Bremen passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 at the Hospice House of South Bend. She was born Aug. 1, 1922 in Bremen to John and Inez (Frenger) Edel. Nov. 8, 1941 she married Kenneth Huber, he preceded her in death Dec. 2, 2010.
Bethel graduated from Bremen High School in 1940 and went on to cook for the Bremen Schools for many years. She attended Bremen First United Church of Christ. She loved her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and school functions.
Survivors include two sons: Ted (Maureen) Huber of Newburgh, Marty (Connie) Huber of Bremen, two daughters: Kathy (Gary) Heller of Bremen and Susan (Dwayne) Gooch of Bremen, grandchildren: Kelly (Keith) Paige of Boonville, Dan (Brooke) Huber of Indianapolis, Missi (Rob) Coffel of Bremen, Tod Jones of Midland, Ohio, Deron (Holly) Heller of Bremen, Chris (Jamie) Lucas of Bremen, Julie (Ian) Nelson of South Bend, Carrie Gooch of Los Angeles, Calif., Lindsey Huber of Indianapolis, Mitchel Huber of Chicago, Ill., 17 great-grandchildren, five sisters: Marcia Corl of Syracuse, Mary Aker of Plymouth, Vivian Walker of South Bend, Charlotte Edel and Loma Snyder, both of Bremen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters: Jane, Alma and Joan, five brothers: Bob, Lawrence, Dale, Stanley and Armond.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 at the First United Church of Christ in Bremen and will be officiated by Pastor Tom Dean. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bremen High School Athletic Fund.
The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements.
