Bell sought in Leiters Ford area murder, two suspects captured in Culver area

Police are seeking 24 year old Roy Bell in connection with a Leiters Ford area murder and robbery. Last night, police apprehended two of three suspects during an evening manhunt.

Jason Miller, 34, of Plymouth, and William Scroggs, 25, of Delong were arrested last night.

The arrests followed a manhunt which began with a pursuit which began near Monterey and ended with a car crash near Mystic Hills golf course in the area of State Roads 110 and 117, close to the Fulton-Marshall line Culver area around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The three fled on foot, with one apprehended immediately by police.

The three white males are said to be connected to the Tuesday murder of 81-year old Wilma Upsall, who was shot to death in or near her home in the 6800 block of West Olson just south of Leiters Ford. Police reported Wednesday that the home appeared to have been forcibly entered and ransacked.

Neighbors in the area of Mystic Hills last night reported state and other police set up a perimeter with mobile command center, K-9's, and helicopter above, though that perimeter was dismantled late Wednesday and other methods employed to find the suspects. Area roads were on lockdown as well. Residents are advised Bell is considered armed and dangerous.

Police also arrested two men via the heavy police presence in the area, just after midnight Thursday morning in Fulton County on unrelated warrants.
