Argos’ VanDerWeele is Ball State Alumnus Soccer Coach of the Year

February 2, 2012

ARGOS — Argos boys soccer coach Todd VanDerWeele has been named the 2011-12 Ball State University Alumnus Soccer Coach of the Year the college announced Wednesday.
A 1995 graduate of Ball State, Vanderweele led the Dragons to sectional and regional titles — ending 10-year championship dry spells — with a 13-7 win-loss record this season.
VanDerWeele was selected by a vote of other Ball State alumni head soccer coaches at Indiana high schools.
The first Ball State University Alumni Association Coach of the Year Award was given in 1957. In 1997 the awards program was expanded to include all 10 boys and 10 girls IHSAA-sanctioned sports. Alumni who received their bachelor’s degree from Ball State are eligible to receive the award.
