Ancilla volleyball hosting Chargers for Change event tonight

October 16, 2012

PLYMOUTH — The Ancilla College women’s volleyball team will host their first Chargers for Change fundraiser event tonight at 6:30 p.m.
Chargers for Change will work together with Ounce of Prevention to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. It will be an addition to the past Chargers for Change events that were hosted by Ancilla men’s and women’s basketball programs.
“Ancilla College Lady Charger Volleyball is excited to be involved with Chargers for Change and Ounce of Prevention for this very important cause,” Ancilla volleyball head coach Lana Singleton commented. “The Lady Chargers are excited to help in any way to make a difference.”
Fans and members of the community are encouraged to come out to Charger Arena located at the Lifeplex in Plymouth for the game tonight starting at 6:30p.m. There will be a $5 donation for admittance in which all proceeds go to Ounce of Prevention.
Spectators can expect a lively atmosphere in which crowd participation between sets will consist of raffle drawings and serving contests in addition to a competitive volleyball match with Kellogg Community College.
Members of the women’s volleyball team are continuing to seek donations and prizes to the events. Local businesses such as Pizza Hut, Ponderosa, Subway, and many more have already stepped forward in contribution to items that will be up for grabs at the event.
Ancilla College (www.ancilla.edu) is a Catholic, two-year, co-educational, liberal arts college in Donaldson, Indiana, sponsored by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ.
