Alonzo ‘Lonnie’ Sayre

PLYMOUTH — Alonzo “Lonnie” H. Sayre, 68, of Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at 8:20 p.m., at Elkhart Hospice House, in Elkhart, after a brief illness.
Alonzo was born Dec. 14, 1944, in Brownwood, Texas, to Alonzo and Sarah (Ard) Sayre. Lonnie’s father was killed in the war, in Germany, and he was raised by his stepfather, Willis Laughery and his mother, Sarah. Lonnie married Linda Bianchi on April 1, 1966. They have lived in Plymouth for the past 34 years. He had been employed in sales and management and retired from a machine shop in Plymouth. Lonnie had been very active in Little League baseball and football, for 20 years. He loved to cook and spend time with his grandchildren. He also liked to work in the yard and just enjoy Mother Nature. He attended the First United Methodist Church.
Alonzo is survived by his wife, Linda Sayre of Plymouth; their daughter, Lisa (Paul) Kopetski of Plymouth; their son, Mike (Teresa) Sayre of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren; and his sister, Judy (Roger) Matson of Fort Scott, Kan.
