PLYMOUTH — Alice M. Bennett, 84, of Plymouth passed away at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. She was born Nov. 30, 1927 in South Bend to the late Earl and Gunhild (Homme) Smith. Oct. 5, 1947 in North Liberty she married Rodger D. Bennett.
Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rodger D. Bennett; daughter, Ann (Don) Brown of Osceola; two sons, Kenneth R. Bennett of Plymouth and Bruce W. (Dixie) Bennett of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Irene “Janette” Horvath of South Bend and Thelma Taylor of Cassopolis, Mich. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael D. Bennett; her parents and two sisters, Shirley Bennett and Signe Borg.
Mrs. Bennett lived in Lakeville for 25 years before moving to Plymouth in 1997. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1314 N. Michigan St. Plymouth. Graveside services and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the church and one hour prior to the services Monday. Palmer Funeral Home-Lakeville is assisting the family with arrangements.
