7th grade champions

For the second year in a row, the NorthWood seventh grade football team captured the Big 11 Championship. They defeated Penn Discovery in the championship game by a score of 36-0.
Bryaton Yoder started the scoring for NorthWood with a 34-yard touchdown run. Caleb Lung added a kick to make it 8-0. Yoder then scored from 57 yards out and with another Lung kick, NorthWood led 16-0.
Yoder added a 58-yard punt return in the second quarter. William Ingle closed out the half with a 49-yard interception return for a touchdown to make it 30-0 at halftime. Yoder ran 32 yards for a touchdown in the second half to cap the scoring.
Jacob Chupp led the defense with 10 tackles. Brendon Kaser had six tackles, Bailey Peacher and Evan Bonne had five while Payton Bear had four.
The Panthers averaged 39 points per game and had a school-record five shutouts. The 7th grade program is 22-2 over the past three year with back-to-back Big 11 championships.
