June 13, 2012

BREMEN — 23-year-old Taylor R. Dodds, of South Bend, was killed around 6:30 Wednesday morning when his vehicle collided with a semi truck on U.S. 6 near Pla-Mor campground in Bremen.
Marshall County coroner Bill Clevenger said Dodds was traveling east on U.S. 6 when he suddenly swerved into oncoming traffic and hit a semi driven by David Bryant, 55, of southern Indiana. Dodds was killed instantly. Bryant was not injured in the accident, and managed to escape from the cab of the semi before it burst into flames.
Bremen Fire and EMS as well as the Marshall County Police Department responded to the scene, and the road was closed to all traffic for some time Wednesday morning. The incident is under investigation, and the coroner's office is awaiting results of a toxicology.
