One man is dead after a truck overturned in a water-filled ditch on Beech Road north of U.S. 30 just before 6 a.m. Thursday. The driver of a green pickup truck reportedly drove over the embankment and landed in a drainage ditch upside down.

The victim is a male likely in his 70's but police are still working to ID him and notify his family members before releasing further information.

Indiana State Police say they do not yet know what caused the man to crash but they have said he was wearing a seat belt and his head was submerged in water. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An official cause of death is still unknown.
