Application deadline nears for state park deer reduction hunts

The deadline for hunters to apply for this year’s state park deer reduction hunts is Aug. 25.

Hunters must apply online by visiting Hunting.IN.gov and clicking on the "Reserved Hunt Info" link. Paper applications are not available.

Deer reduction hunts reduce the ecological damage that deer herds cause in state parks by helping to maintain deer browsing at a sustainable level. Biologists determine which parks require a reduction each year based on plant recovery and previous hunter success.

A short break and then it’s running again

August 2, 2013

The last time we talked, Skyler was winning the Egg Festival and Brant was playing at Coveleski Stadium for a charity event.
Since then Skyler and the Wolf Pack have won the Boys’ of Summer League and the end of the year tournament.
Brant and the Chargers won the BPA State tournament, which brought our break from baseball to an entire week over the July Fourth holiday.
We spent that week with friends and family. We enjoyed a great evening with friends and neighbors during a cookout and fireworks show.
We also enjoyed a day at the Warren Dunes with friends.
