March 27, 2014

WAKARUSA — There are few things more exhilarating to a shopper than snagging a great deal.
But what if an opportunity presented itself that would benefit not only a buyer's wallet, but was engaged in a higher purpose and a meaningful calling, something that touched lives long after the bargains and the fanfare has passed?
That is precisely what transpires twice a year, when the Children's Resale is unveiled in the Wakarusa community.

NAPPANEE — Residents are alerted that the freeze warning is still in place citywide. Residents are encouraged to leave water running through faucets and showers to avoid pipes freezing.
Residents who leave taps gently running to avoid frozen pipes should then call the Nappanee Water Department, 574-773-4623, to put their names on a list of those participating in these instructions so the added water costs can be adjusted from monthly bills.
These important reminders came from members of the Nappanee Board of Public Works and Safety during a Feb. 24 meeting.

There are very few people who can resist the allure of a great challenge. They are likely the same people who enjoy searching for that which sometimes escapes the limitations of human understanding.
If this is a description that seems fitting, the curious and captivated are invited to join a brand new organization, known as the Elkhart Paranormal Investigation Control Group, otherwise known as EPIC. The group will be sponsoring their first ever meeting at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 15 at Martin's Side Door Deli, located at 1200 North Nappanee Street, Elkhart.

"I was really involved and interested in [telecommunications] but there was a part of me that just lacked passion," Vandermark said. "You can get a lot of attention or notoriety from that but I was raised in a very generous family so I kind of, in a way, felt selfish for not doing something."

"We came across a vapor store closer to our house and found JoyTechs," Julie recalled.
