Culver Wings relocates alongside other new businesses on SR 10

December 11, 2012

Culver residents have likely noticed the large "Culver Pizza" sign on State Road 10 at the former site of the Ten Spot restaurant and bar. They may or may not have realized the new restaurant there is, first of all, not exactly a "new' restaurant at all, and secondly, now open (as of last Wednesday) for business.

December 8, 2012

There's nothing new about Culver family and friends rallying around well-known, lifelong Culverites David and Bobbi Schrimsher, but the community is focusing its support even as the focus of David's health becomes more pointed. Part of that is a bake sale to help the family offset expenses -- organized by longtime friend and classmate Anna Neher -- scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 15, starting at 8 a.m. at Park N Shop in Culver.

Gearing up for Friday’s tree lighting, holiday open houses

These will be collected when students lead community caroling as part of the Christmas festivities this Friday, December 7.

Following the 6:30 p.m. tree lighting and Santa appearance at the depot, carolers will visit area businesses and restaurants, many of which will be open for special late hours in honor of the occasion.

If these walls could talk: the grain elevator

December 1, 2012

Longtime Culver residents will remember how different was the appearance of the east end of Jefferson Street in decades past, as alluded to in a recent entry in our ongoing series of virtual "walks" through Culver, building by building.

This week we'll visit the old site of what most Culverites simply called "the grain elevator," whose property resided along the south side of Jefferson, not too far from the lake shore.

And preparations are already underway.
