Easter egg hunt March 23
Culver’s annual Easter Egg hunt will take place Saturday, March 23, start­ing at 10 a.m. at the Cul­ver town park, for ages 2 through 4th grade. The Easter Bunny will be here so bring your camera! The event is sponsored by the Culver park and recreation department.

Several Culver area churches have released their Holy Week and Easter worship schedules. As of press time, the following information had been received.

*Culver Bible Church: Good Friday service, 7 p.m. Easter sunrise, 7:30 a.m. by the gazebo. Breakfast, 8 a.m. in the church basement (please R.S.V.P 574-842-3056). Bible study, 9:30 a.m. Worship Service, 10:30 a.m.

*Emmanuel United Methodist Church: Sunrise service, 7 a.m. (breakfast to follow). Sunday school, 9 a.m. Worhship service, 10 a.m.

After-school food program starts in Culver

CULVER — Every day, between 10 and 40 students arrive at the Culver Public Library after school. Sometimes, they are waiting for a parent to pick them up. Sometimes, they are biding time before a practice or game. Sometimes they are just studying or hanging out. But they have one thing in common — hunger.

Culver eyes new well, water plant, $1.5 million project

Culver's town council heard recommendations for a new well and water treatment plant at its March 12 meeting, though the changes won't come cheap: they're expected to cost in the neighborhood of $1.5 million.
This according to Mark Sullivan and Steve Bender of Commonwealth Engineers, the firm hired to study the condition of Culver's two current wells and water treatment plant, located on South Ohio Street.

Chamber members praise Ruhnow’s years of assistance

The most significant winter storm of the season swirling outside and the guest of honor unable to attend didn't curtail the several members of Culver's Chamber of Commerce hunkered down in Cafe Max on Main Street to celebrate the contributions of just-retired Chamber secretary Bobetta "Bobbie" Ruhnow, and "talk shop" a bit in the process.

Haynes accepts Priest-in-Charge call to St. Thomas

St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Plymouth has called the Rev. Thomas E. Haynes to serve as their Interim Priest-in-Charge for two years. Fr. Tom has been teaching math at the Culver Academies and has served in various capacities with Spiritual Life and Instructional Technology in the 13 years he has been there. He is currently the Priest-in-Charge at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Culver. Fr. Tom will leave those positions in June.

The Culver VFW Ladies Auxiliary will serve a St. Patrick’s Day special of corned beef and cabbage with parsley red potatoes, salad, and dessert for $9 Friday, March 15 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The public is welcome.

LITTLE LEAGUE SIGNUPS
Culver Little League will hold sign-ups at the Culver Union Twp. Library on the following dates and times: Saturday, March 16, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Wednesday, March 20, 5 to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, March 23, noon to 3 p.m.

Kids fun fair for Logan Center March 15 at Culver Elementary gym

The Culver Youth Community Organization will sponsor a fundraiser for the Logan Center of South Bend this Friday, March 15, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The festivities will be held at the Culver Elementary School’s gymnasium and will include music, face painting, carnival games, a bounce house, and concessions. The Logan Center Great Nose-On Dance and Fun Fair will be open to all Culver Elementary School students.

One adult chaperone will be required for all students in attendance.

Continuing our "virtual" journey through the history of various Culver buildings, we're still wandering around notable spots west of Culver's downtown, before heading to another part of town entirely. And, since we strolled by the Culver Post Office last time out, we're now at the door of what is today Culver's only locally-based (if not locally-owned) pharmacy, CVS, at 103 S. Ohio Street.
