CBGC members learn to servant lead

December 14, 2011

Culver Academies hosted a group of some 30 members of the Culver Boys & Girls Club recently, for an afternoon of fun, food, and leadership training.

"The goal," says Academies student Caitlynn Fortner, who led the day's activities along with other students, "is that Culver students get a chance to give back to the community through teaching. We understand that as Culver students we learn leadership as a crucial part of our curriculum, and we want to educate others that may not have the opportunities to lead like we do here."

New business gives Culverites computer repair, service options

December 8, 2011

Those readers who have asked -- or been asked -- where in Culver they may take their computers for repair or service, finally have an answer in the form of the “Puter Pit Stop” at 514 W. Jefferson Street.

If the address has a familiar, and computer-related ring to it, that’s because it was home to Culver’s longest-running computer-related business, Culver Communications, which still provides internet access, email, and web space to customers. However, “Culcom” hasn’t serviced computers on a consistent basis for some time.

Anyway, that’s how CGA Head Coach Gary Christlieb summed up his team’s overtime victory against Culver Community at home at The Academies.
