Members of CCHS `11, lauded by Lions, recall year of ‘love, loss, excitement, and anticipation’

from Culver Community High School and their families to treat them to a catered meal and celebrate their accomplishments by way of the Club's annual senior awards banquet, held last Wednesday, April 27 in the CCHS cafeteria.
After a well-received round of songs from the school's jazz choir, accompanied by pianist Ann Bigley and directed by Diane Derrow, Student Council President Mark Maes took to the podium to review the past year, which he described as one of "love, loss, excitement, and anticipation."

Culver community garden seeks helping hands to make a difference

This spring marks the third year for the Culver Community Garden located at the corner of Lewis and Slate Streets. A large variety of fresh vegetables are grown and donated to the Culver Community Food Bank to provide clients there with fresh produce during the growing season, according to Connie Richie, one of the volunteers facilitating the project. The excess produce, she adds, is sold at the local Farmer’s Market, with the proceeds given to the local food bank for the purchase of other needed items.

Special competition this Saturday in Culver

PLYMOUTH — Athletes were preparing Saturday at Lincoln Junior High School for a very special competition that will take place Saturday, May 7 at Culver Military Academy’s track field. Adults from the Marshall-Starke Special Olympics team were practicing their individual sport and setting their best times for the upcoming competition.
Each will compete in several events ranging from running long jump, relays, javelin throw, shot put, softball throw, and 400-meter walk, to name a few. Those 30 and older will also compete in Bocce.
