Fish and Pancakes at Potawatomi Wildlife Park

September 19, 2014

TIPPECANOE — It was a chilly morning at Potawatomi Wildlife park Saturday morning. But that didn’t stop visitors from stopping by for a plate of all-you-can-eat pancakes and fishing.
The park hosted their 22nd annual fishing derby between 8 a.m. and noon. The ponds at the park are usually no fishing areas but this one day a year it’s non stop fishing (catch and release for most fish). Many families participate year after year but newcomers are always welcome.
“It’s not really a fundraiser,” explained Michael Stephan, park director. “It is really more of a friend-raiser.”
