Plymouth falls to No. 5 Marian
Plymouth was competitive but lost a three-game match to visiting Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association Class 3A, No. 5 Mishawaka Marian at home Monday, 25-18, 25-20, 25-17.
Andria Shook put away five kills to lead the Lady Pilgrims attack, while Carly Baker, Marissa German and Amber Redinger each recorded four.
Haley Harrell set 15 assists, while Kori Potoczky had two blocks at the net for Plymouth.
German led in digs with four and Baker had three block assists for the Pilgrims, who slide to 7-6 on the year.

Lady Lions take 2nd at NSC

BREMEN — Bremen knew the Northern State Conference Girls Golf Meet would likely come down to a battle with New Prairie.
Unfortunately for the Lions, the middle of their lineup couldn’t quite put their best rounds together, and the Cougars ran away with the NSC championship with 400 points to Bremen’s 425 at Sprig O’Mint Golf Course Saturday.
John Glenn golfers struggled on the front nine to finish third with a 450, meanwhile, as Triton turned in a 461 for fourth, LaVille was fifth with a 537, and Knox was sixth with a 583 at the meet.

Plymouth runner-up at Northern Lakes meet

PLYMOUTH — It’s not often you get a lift from one of your opponents.
Nevertheless, that’s exactly what happened to Plymouth at the Northern Lakes Conference Girls Golf Meet Saturday, as the Lady Pilgrims finished second with a 363 behind NLC champ Warsaw’s 354, and Northridge beat out Wawasee to give Plymouth sole possession of second place in the final conference standings.
“I thanked the Northridge coach. I said ‘Man, we appreciate it.’ Our girls needed to pick it up today, and they realized that,” said Plymouth head coach Jack Kinney.

Stevens earned this week's Teachers Credit Union Male Athlete of the Week honors as he gained 165 yards and rushed for two touchdowns in a 37-13 Northern Lakes Conference defeat of the Raiders.

Triton won the No. 2 singles and both doubles championships to finish with 20 points ahead of host Riley’s 18 points, while Bremen finished third with 11 points at the Wildcat Invitational Saturday.

Stevens and Rockies rally past Raiders

PLYMOUTH — Sam Stevens and the Rockie Express kept rolling right along Friday night.
The junior fullback rambled 29 times for 162 yards and two scores, helping Plymouth pull away for a 37-13 victory over Northridge in Northern Lakes Conference football action at The Rockpile.
Clinging to a 15-13 lead early in the third quarter, the 6-foot, 180-pound Stevens found an opening and raced 27 yards to cap off a six-play, 61-yard march to give the Rockies (3-1, 2-0 NLC) a little breathing room.

Lions shut out Trojans, 41-0

BREMEN — Triton Head Coach Rodney Younis knew his team was going to have to put up some points to contend with host Bremen.
Instead the Lions defensive unit created six turnovers while pitching a shutout against the visiting Trojans, and the result was a lopsided 41-0 Northern State Conference win at home Friday at Don Bunge Field.

Falcons run over LaVille for 50-7 win

LAKEVILLE – If you blinked during the first half Friday night, you probably missed a John Glenn score or two.
The visiting Falcons, who crossed the goal line in each of their seven first-half possessions, fired off 50 points before the break — highlighted by four touchdowns from superstar senior running back Josh Anderson – en route to a 50-7 Northern State Conference football win over LaVille at Lancer Field.

Hogan powers Cavs to win at New Prairie
Culver Community senior running back Kevin Hogan ground out 212 yards for four touchdowns, and the Cavaliers claimed a Northern State Conference win on the road at New Prairie Friday, 34-26.
Hogan averaged better than 17 yards per carry as he ran amok at New Prairie, scoring on touchdown runs of 84, 34, 1 and 61 yards.
