No. 1 Lady Cats rout LaVille

December 5, 2013

LAKEVILLE — Oregon-Davis’ girls basketball team excelled in a couple of key statistics Wednesday — free-throw shooting percentage and turnovers.
Of course, the rest of the stat sheet looked pretty tidy for the Class A No. 1 Lady Cats, too.
OD sank 22-of-25 tosses from the charity stripe, turned the ball over just 11 times — six through the first three frames — notched 42 points off 31 LaVille turnovers, and landed all five starters in double figures in the opening three quarters en route to a 90-26 rout of the Lancers at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium.

Triton takes down Plymouth, 59-44

December 4, 2013

BOURBON — In the preseason, Triton head coach Jason Groves predicted that his team might live or die by the 3-pointer.
They certainly made a living from beyond the arc Tuesday.
The Trojans stroked 10-of-17 triples, including 7-of-11 in the first half as they jumped out to a 15-point halftime cushion, and they never once surrendered the lead in a convincing 59-44 defeat of visiting Plymouth at the Trojan Trench.
